Blog Entry 1

                               Is America's food supply safe?

The statement “the F.D.A educates consumers to do their part to ensure that the food they eat is safe.” pinged my head by a saying that ‘it is not possible for a person to clap his hand by one hand, both the hands are must to do so’ which compared that alone F.D.A cannot work for ensuring safest food supply to the individual, it is the duty of an individual too to ensure it by various measures said by F.D.A like cooking at appropriate temperatures, keeping it refrigerated, proper handling and many more.
Since the food comes from all over the world as mentioned in the passage, F.D.A works at its best to ensure the safety of the food by having their inspectors at the borders to prevent the unsafe food which do not meet the standards from entering which is the best idea according to me because summarizing it at the earliest is the best idea rather than doing it later when it causes harm to any individual because we never know how harmful it is going to be.
F.D.A states that they have 625 investigators working out of 20 different offices all round the country to inspect food supply to keep the food safe. They try solving and fixing the problems to prevent it from happening again. Besides this, it is a right of an individual to make proper notices and make review of what they buy because after they buy the F.D.A inspectors are going to come and ensure their safety, now it is the duty of an individual to do it, the F.D.A has done their work already. The F.D.A always work to provide food from bacteria, viral and chemical contamination and even use most modern scientific methods to prevent the contaminaton so that when the food product is sold to the consumer, they do not have to come through any contamination. But it is also our daily duty to ensure it.
I can relate it by saying that if F.D.A gives it 99% to ensure the safety of food supply. It is our duty to atleast give 1% of more effort to prevent it and follow the regulations provided by the F.D.A.
